There are a large number of artistic, architectural, literary and natural heritage all over the world that should be considered as inseparable parts of human history. They are waiting to be recognized as such by means of being introduced to the United Nations Educational and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) and getting included in its list of World Heritage, by the governments of relevant countries. Nevertheless, the unfortunate fact is that in some countries, these treasures are neglected and left to vanish in a rapid manner. Haphazard development projects, intentional and unintentional negligence on the part of the authorities, unlicensed excavations, smuggling of valuable items, and the nonchalant attitude of uneducated people are the main reasons for such a lamentable loss. There are even some governments that intentionally help the devastation of such treasures due to some religious or ideological reasons.
